Hats off to the Biden/Harris Administration and the DOJ for two new rules that will help improve gun safety, especially in the area of safe storage

Hats off to the Biden/Harris Administration and the DOJ for two new rules that will help improve gun safety, especially in the area of safe storage.

First is a rule "requiring [Federal Licensed Firearm Dealers] (FFL's) to certify that they have secure gun storage devices available to their customers for purchase... Not all devices are compatible with varying types of firearms. Therefore, integral to the new rule is the requirement that FFLs have available secure gun storage options that are compatible with the firearms they are selling.

Second, the publication of a Best Practices for FFL's Guide, which ""also encourages FFLs to provide customers with ATF publications to help firearms owners better understand their legal obligations, as well as practical steps they can take to help keep firearms out of the hands of prohibited persons and facilitate the safe storage of firearms."

Now, it is up to Congress to pass Ethan's Law and send it to President Biden's desk. If you live in Maine's Second Congressional District, call Rep. Golden at (202)225-2943 and tell him to co-sponsor HR 748/Ethan's Law.
