17th Annual Fitzgerald Dinner

Thank you to everyone who joined us on November 17th at the beautiful Grace restaurant in Portland to support Maine's longest-standing gun violence prevention organization. South Portland Police Chief Ed Googins received the Fitzgerald Award in front of a sold-out crowd of public servants and concerned community members.

The award is named for the late Buzz Fitzgerald, who co-founded the Maine Gun Safety Coalition with Congresswoman Chellie Pingree and attorney William Harwood following the Columbine High School Massacre in 1999. It was only fitting that we celebrated the end of an incredible year of growth by featuring Congresswoman Pingree as the guest speaker and announcing that Bill Harwood is taking the reigns as MGSC President.

The Fitzgerald dinner supports our education programs, legislative initiatives, and our Free Trigger Locks Giveaway program. Thank you to our sponsors Benchmark MaineBrowne TradingCD&M CommunicationsDavid Wood ClothiersGrace RestaurantHugo's Restaurant, and Murray Plumb and Murray.
