The Maine Gun Safety Coalition seeks to elect gun violence prevention advocates to every level of government who are committed to pursuing common-sense, evidence-based approaches to reducing gun violence and saving lives in Maine. Last November, nearly two-in-three Mainers made it clear that our state believes that with gun rights come responsibilities, like keeping guns out of dangerous hands. For too long, elected leaders have been out of touch with voters on this issue.

This year we sent endorsement questionnaires to every viable candidate running for the state legislature, for governor, and for Congress. Our endorsements are based on responses to those questionnaires, candidate interviews, voting records for incumbents, and all available public information such as campaign statements and media coverage.
