Maine Gun Giveback 2022
In June 2022 Maine Gun Safety Coalition led a gun giveback program across the state of Maine.
The public turned in hundreds of unwanted firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition in a safe, legal, responsible manner to participating law enforcement stations.
National Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Weekend was held June 3-5, 2022
In the wake of multiple tragedies, the fight to end gun violence has never been more urgent. During National Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Weekend, we join together to demand a future free from gun violence once and for all. All are encouraged to join in National Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Weekend June 3-5. A few vigils and prayer services are listed below. 2021 Candlelight Vigil on the 9th anniversary of Sandy Hook
The vigil was held in December 2021 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Brunswick in remembrance of the victims of the massacre at Sandy Hook in 2012.
22nd Annual Buzz Fitzgerald Awards
The Maine Gun Safety Coalition held the 22nd Annual Buzz Fitzgerald Awards on Wednesday November 17, 2021. Out of an abundance of caution for the health of our supporters, awardees, speakers, and board members, we once again hosted the program online.
